Internship Junior Project Engineer-In-Training

Your Role:
- Develop sound technical solutions including assessment, design, evaluation and construction strategy for airport infrastructure.
- Support and complete tasks for project cost estimates, project plans, operational plans, schedules and deliverables to execute high quality projects on time and on budget.
- Maintain quality checks of designs, drawings, quantity calculations, tender documents and specifications.
- Prepare technical letters and reviews, reports, quality control documents, memos and other documentation.
- Identify, address and resolve technical design, operational and construction issues and conflicts as needed to deliver the work plan.
- Participate in proposal preparation when requested.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or diploma in civil engineering technology.
- 1-2 years of experience in municipal and/or transportation engineering is valuable. Practical exposure to real-world projects enhances your understanding of engineering practices and project execution.
- Airport design and project experience.
- Knowledge of Transport Canada, ICAO, and FAA guidelines is advantageous.
- Familiarity with airport-related projects adds value to your skill set.
- Basic civil engineering design skills.
- AutoCAD skills are beneficial. Proficiency in computer software tool aids in drafting and design tasks.
- Experience in writing reports and technical communications is crucial. Clear documentation and effective communication are essential for project success.
- Must be well organized and capable of managing and prioritizing numerous tasks. This ensures commitment to project delivery, client service, and quality management.
- An aptitude for, and interest in, planning, scheduling, and financial management. This contributes to effective project execution.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team environment ensures adaptability and flexibility.
- Possession of a valid Canadian driver’s license.
- Must be able and willing to travel and work on resident site inspection for construction projects with duration varying between several weeks to several months.
